Merino Sheep Wool Blankets — Naturally Warm, Breathable & Therapeutic

Made‑to‑Order • 3–4 Week Production • Premium ½" Wool Pile

Our Merino sheep wool blankets are made‑to‑order using top‑grade ½" pile wool fabric and backed with your choice of 100% cotton or 100% cotton flannel. These blankets are naturally soft, cozy, breathable, and easy to clean, ideal for anyone who tends to feel chilly, has circulation concerns, or needs gentle, therapeutic warmth.

Wool is nature’s most intelligent fibre. It responds to your body, insulating when you need warmth and releasing heat when you don’t. This creates a stable, womb‑like environment that supports temperature regulation, moisture balance, and nervous‑system calm,  making these blankets perfect for sleep, recovery, and year‑round comfort.

The Miracle of Wool

Temperature Regulation • Moisture Control • Nervous‑System Support

Wool is one of nature’s most advanced fibres, offering benefits unmatched by synthetics or cotton:

  • Moisture absorption (up to 40%)  reduces harmful bacteria and prevents dampness

  • Pressure & friction reduction, helps prevent the top three causes of skin irritation

  • Skin‑breathing support,  counters natural moisture loss during sleep

  • Core temperature stability (37°C / 98.6°F), promotes optimal circulation

  • Natural insulation,  suitable for all climates

  • Antimicrobial protection, resists bacteria, mould, fungus, and odour

  • Nervous‑system soothing,  wool provides steady warmth, gentle tactile stimulation, and sensory stability that help calm the body and support deeper rest

This combination makes wool ideal for individuals with circulation issues, chronic coldness, sensory sensitivity, or health‑related temperature fluctuations.

Sheepskin vs. Sheep Wool — What’s the Difference?

  • Sheepskin: Includes the hide with the wool still attached.

  • Sheep Wool Fabric: Uses only the shorn wool fibre, no hide,  making it washable, breathable, and ideal for bedding, blankets, and therapeutic products.

What Is Sheep Wool Fabric?

Our wool fabric is made from:

  • Wool fibre (sheared from the sheep)

  • A soft nylon grid

  • A medical‑grade acrylic stabilizer

The wool is “knitted” into the nylon grid and stabilized to create a flat, plush surface that looks like sheepskin without the hide. This process makes the wool machine washable, breathable, and durable,  perfect for daily use.

Wool Product Care

  • Expect light shedding at first,  this is normal

  • Air‑fluff in the dryer (no heat) for 5 minutes to remove loose fibres

  • Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight

  • Wool may “clump” over time,  this does not affect performance

  • Brush with a metal brush after laundering if you prefer a fluffier look

With proper care, your wool blanket will last many, many years.

Washing Instructions

  • Machine wash on delicate in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C)

  • Use wool soap with lanolin (e.g., Eucalan)

  • Air dry or tumble with NO heat

  • Remove from dryer at 85% dry

  • Spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) with eucalan or  disinfecting soap

  • Do not bleach

Wool is naturally antimicrobial and does not require frequent washing. To freshen, hang outside in moist air (out of sunlight); the wool will release moisture and self‑refresh.

100% Natural

Wool is a completely natural fiber, produced year-round by over 68 million sheep in Australia. These sheep thrive on a simple diet of grass, water, fresh air, and sunshine.

Biodegradable

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.

Naturally Breathable

Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

Wrinkle Resistant

On a microscopic scale, each Merino wool fiber acts like a tiny spring, bouncing back to its original shape after being bent. This natural elasticity helps Merino garments resist wrinkling.

100% Renewable

Australian sheep grow a new fleece annually, making wool a fully renewable natural fiber.
