Sheep wool is a natural material known for its gentle and supportive qualities, creating a womb-like experience. Its unique insulating properties provide warmth during colder months and keep babies cool in warmer months. The wool's ability to retain body heat helps regulate core temperature throughout the year, while also aiding in relieving gas and promoting digestion. Plus, it absorbs the familiar scents of parents, making it a popular choice for baby blankets.
We work with the highest quality, 100% pure Sheep Wool Fabric.

When providing the best sleeping environment for newborns, choosing a wool blanket made from sheep's wool is optimal. The unique properties of sheep's wool make it the perfect material for promoting comfort, health, and overall well-being for babies.
Sheep's wool is known for its natural resistance to bacteria, mold, and fungus. This means that when your baby sleeps on a wool blanket, you can rest assured knowing they are sleeping in a clean and hygienic environment. Wool's ability to repel these harmful microorganisms helps to prevent skin irritations and allergies, keeping your baby's delicate skin healthy and protected.
Furthermore, sheep's wool has excellent temperature-regulating properties. It can help keep your baby warm in colder temperatures and cool in warmer temperatures. This is because wool can absorb and release moisture, allowing your baby to maintain a comfortable body temperature throughout the night. This is especially beneficial for newborns, as they cannot yet regulate their body temperature effectively.
Another advantage of sleeping in sheep's wool is its softness and cushioning. Wool fibers are incredibly soft and gentle, providing your baby with a cozy and comfortable sleeping surface. This can help promote better sleep quality and reduce the risk of discomfort or restlessness during the night.
Additionally, sheep's wool is a sustainable and eco-friendly choice. It is a renewable resource that can be shorn from sheep without causing harm to the animals. By choosing a wool blanket for your baby, you are making a conscious decision to support sustainable practices and reduce your environmental impact.
In conclusion, sleeping in sheep's wool is nourishing and the best choice for newborns. Its natural resistance to bacteria, mold, and fungus, temperature-regulating properties, softness, and sustainability make it the ideal material for creating a comfortable, healthy, and safe sleeping environment for your baby. Invest in a wool blanket today and give your baby the gift of a restful and nurturing sleep.
General care:
Expect a small amount of shedding when the product is new as there will be some loose fibres. You can machine air fluff (no heat) for five minutes to remove excess fibres. Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight.
Over time and with more use, wool fibres will naturally bind together creating a more ‘clumped’ look. This change in the look does not affect the performance of the wool. You will still receive all of the natural and beautiful benefits. If you prefer a fluffier look, you can brush the product with a metal brush after laundering.
With care, your wool products will last many, many years.
Washing instructions:
Machine washable on delicate setting in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C) with a wool soap containing lanolin, such as Eucalan. Air drying is recommended. You may use a dryer WITHOUT HEAT to fluff your product. Remove from dryer before it dries completely (up to 85%). The excess moisture will not be felt and will disperse into the air quickly.
Wool is anti-microbial and will not need excessive laundering. To freshen your product, air it out by hanging outside when the air is moist, out of direct sunlight. When you bring it back inside, the wool will release the moisture into the air. This moisture redistribution results in a refreshening. If there is some staining or seepage from wounds, you can spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and a disinfecting soap. Do not bleach.

Very happy to have these sheep wool blankets for our baby. We use under the sheet as a pad and on top as a blanket. Wonderful for cold weather!
