Why Choose a Sheep's Wool leg Pad:
When it comes to finding relief for cold calves and increasing circulation, sheep's wool leg pads are a natural and effective solution. These leg pads are especially beneficial for individuals with vascular leg issues, such as diabetics, as they provide warmth, breathability, and antimicrobial properties.
One of the key advantages of sheep's wool leg pads is their ability to regulate body temperature. The natural fibers of sheep's wool help to keep your legs warm by trapping air and insulating against the cold. This is particularly important for individuals with poor circulation, as it helps to prevent the legs from becoming cold and blue. As the wool keeps you at your core body temperature, the color of your calves can return to a healthy pink hue.
In addition to their thermal properties, sheep's wool leg pads offer excellent breathability. Unlike synthetic materials, which often trap moisture and restrict airflow, sheep's wool allows air to circulate freely. This breathability helps to prevent excessive sweating and keeps your legs dry and comfortable throughout the day.
Another advantage of sheep's wool leg pads is their natural antimicrobial properties. Wool contains lanolin, a waxy substance that acts as a natural barrier against bacteria. This helps to keep your legs clean and fresh, reducing the risk of infections and unpleasant odors.
Unlike most synthetic surfaces, which do not breathe, sheep's wool leg pads provide a comfortable and healthy environment for your legs. Whether you're wearing them during the day or while sleeping, these leg pads promote optimal circulation and comfort.
At Soul Comfort, we specialize in high-quality comfort products made from natural materials. Our sheep's wool leg pads are carefully crafted to provide the ultimate comfort and health benefits for your legs. With their moisture absorption, bacteria resistance, and natural breathability, our leg pads are the perfect choice for individuals seeking relief from cold calves and improved circulation.
What is the difference between sheepskin and sheep wool?
Sheepskin is the hide of the animal and includes the wool attached to the hide. In a sheepskin, the wool remains attached.
Sheep wool is the fibre sheared off the sheep and used to make various wool products. At Soul Comfort, we use a sheep wool fabric to manufacture most of our products.
What is sheep wool fabric?
The fabric used in our products is a combination of wool fibre (sheared off the sheep), a nylon grid and a medical grade acrylic liquid stabilizer. It is made using a process that takes the loose wool and ‘knits’ it into the nylon grid. Then, the acrylic is used to stabilize the wool in place and create a flat surface by which the fabric can be cut. This results in a material that has the look of a sheepskin, without the hide of the animal. As a result, the wool is machine washable.
General care:
Expect a small amount of shedding when the product is new as there will be some loose fibres. You can machine air fluff (no heat) for five minutes to remove excess fibres. Keep away from high heat and direct sunlight.
Over time and with more use, wool fibres will naturally bind together creating a more ‘clumped’ look. This change in the look does not affect the performance of the wool. You will still receive all of the natural and beautiful benefits. If you prefer a fluffier look, you can brush the product with a metal brush after laundering.
With care, your wool products will last many, many years.
Washing instructions:
Machine washable on delicate setting in cool/lukewarm water (up to 70°C) with a wool soap containing lanolin, such as Eucalan. Air drying is recommended. You may use a dryer WITHOUT HEAT to fluff your product. Remove from dryer before it dries completely (up to 85%). The excess moisture will not be felt and will disperse into the air quickly.
Wool is anti-microbial and will not need excessive laundering. To freshen your product, air it out by hanging outside when the air is moist, out of direct sunlight. When you bring it back inside, the wool will release the moisture into the air. This moisture redistribution results in a refreshening. If there is some staining or seepage from wounds, you can spot clean with warm water (up to 70°C) and a disinfecting soap. Do not bleach.

Ma first resisted slippers as it was a new thing. A couple days went by and she LOVES them. Easy entry for swollen feet. We got the men’s size as I bit wider. Never looking back again to cold feet.
