Sheep Wool Fabric, Not Sheepskin Hide
Our pads use wool fibres shorn from sheep, knitted into a nylon grid and stabilized with an acrylic backing compound. The surface you rest on is wool, without the hide.
Care Instructions
- Machine wash on a delicate cycle in cool or lukewarm water with wool soap containing lanolin, such as Eucalan.
- Air dry, or tumble without heat. Remove while still slightly damp.
- Spot clean as needed.
- Avoid bleach, high heat and direct sunlight.
- Light shedding is normal at first. Brush after washing if you prefer a fluffier finish.

Our fabric is made from 100% shorn sheep wool, knitted into a nylon grid for strength and shape retention, then stabilized with a medical‑grade acrylic compound for washability. This ensures the body lies on pure wool fibre — not hide — while meeting IPAC guidelines.

Once wool fibers are discarded, they naturally break down in soil within a few years, gradually returning beneficial nutrients to the ground.
Merino wool is highly breathable, with fibers that can absorb significant amounts of moisture vapor and release it into the air through evaporation.

For example, Soul Comfort offers mattress overlays for full-body pressure redistribution, seating and wheelchair pads for prolonged sitting, and specialized protectors for areas such as the heels, feet, knees, hands, and other sensitive areas. For wool density, 850 g / 1-inch pile is designed for pressure relief, moisture control, and skin protection, while the denser 950 g option provides additional cushioning for fragile skin, chronic discomfort, previous skin breakdown, or advanced/palliative care. Knitting the Wool
Pure sheep wool is knitted into tubes, then opened into flat sheets for different fabric weights.

We trim the wool pile to a precise height. This defines the texture — plush and cozy or smooth and breathable — depending on its purpose.

Selected wool fabric is tumbled for extra softness, loft, and a gentle, cloud-like Sherpa-style surface finish.
